What tonight will cost, in 19 cities
Dinner Budget
Tasting menu or à la carte, wine by the glass or the pairing, two people or eight: the Dinner Budget estimates the bill per person in your city and compares it with the other eighteen.
The same dinner costs 150 euros in Málaga and 400 in New York once tax and tip are added. The Dinner Budget uses our 2026 guide prices for each city, a tasting menu, a main course, a glass of wine and the local tipping custom, and turns your choices into an estimate per person and for the table. The comparison bar shows every city at once.
Guide prices are averages across the restaurants in this guide, not the price of any single menu. New York and Miami include sales tax and a 20 percent tip; London includes the usual 12.5 percent service charge; Paris, Monaco and Zurich include service. Extras such as water, coffee and a digestif are estimated per person.
Frequently asked questions
Are the prices exact?
No. They are guide averages for 2026 and meant for comparison and planning. The restaurant page and the restaurant’s own website give the real numbers.
Why is New York so much more expensive?
Because tax and a 20 percent tip are added to the menu price, which is itself among the highest in the world.
Does the wine pairing cost the same everywhere?
We estimate it as a share of the menu price, which reflects how most restaurants price their pairings.
