The Kowalke family’s Fischereihafen Restaurant above the old fishing harbour is where Hamburg eats fish the classic way: sole meunière, plaice Finkenwerder style, lobster and the famous crab soup, served on white cloths with a view of the docks. Politicians, captains and families share the room, and the oyster bar downstairs is a Hamburg ritual.
