Jean-Claude Bourgueil’s Im Schiffchen in a baroque house in Kaiserswerth was one of the first three-star restaurants in Germany, and it still cooks classic French haute cuisine with a modern lightness: lobster, pigeon, sauces that take a day. The room is intimate, the cellar is deep and the village setting by the Rhine makes an evening feel like a journey.
